This section describes the window you will see after the startup of kvoice. It has two listboxes which will show you the messages (voice and fax) which you got. New messages will be marked with a red dot.
You can mark messages to be deleted with the delete button. They will be deleted, when you exit kvoice. With the comment button, you can add a comment to each of the messages, so you will later on know directly what the message is about.
The 1/0
button lets you turn the answering machine on and
off. Your computer will answer to incoming calls only if the button is
pressed.
If you push the button all to the right your computer will try to take over the actual call. This is useful, if you lift up your telephone, and hear the beep of a computer or fax on the other end of the line. By pressing this button, you will still be able to receive the fax. Note however, that not all modems support this feature.
The following functions are available from the file menu:
Exit KVoice
This menu controls the answering machine.
Calls the dialog, which lets you record new greeting messages and look at the ones you already have.
Plays the currently highlighted message
Stops playing the message.
The following functions are available from the Fax menu:
Compose a new fax (see dialogs).
Show Queue Shows the current status of the fax queue and lets you delete entries in the queue (see dialogs).
Tries to send the spooled faxes using faxrunq. Up to now
kvoice doesn't check if the sending was sucessful. You can
check this by yourself by typing faxq
at the command
line. I will try to implement this feature as soon as
possible.
Show the currently highlighted fax. Please note, that kvoice
uses kfax
for showing the fax. KFax
is available in
the kdegraphics
package which can be found on
ftp://ftp.kde.org/pub/kde
From this menu you can start the Setup dialog.
From this menu can show information about KVoice and the KVoice documentation.
