NetCon 6.1 README First

Note: For all platforms except BSD download the Window/Win95/NT client
software in the file "spinsock.tar" extract this file with tar on Unix and run
setup.exe from Windows. This file contains both a 16 bit an 32 bit winsock.dll.

	Example:
	From UNIX
	# mkdir /sys/public/spinsock
	# cd /sys/public/spinsock
	# tar xvf spinsock.tar

	From DOS/Window map a Drive to the NetCon Server
	C:> map n:=netcon/sys:\
	
	From Windows Run "n:\public\spinsock\setup.exe"

NetCon Release 6.1 for FreeBSD 2.x and BSDI 2.1 and 3.0

bsdi60.tgz	BSDI BSD O/S 2.1

To install NetCon 6.1 on FreeBSD 2.x use pkg_add.

	Example;
	# pkg_add bsd6121.tgz

To Install NetCon 6.0 on BSDI BSD O/S 2.1, extract the tar file into the 
root "/" directory the run "/tmp/ncinstall" which calls "installsw".
	
	Example:
	# cd /
	# tar xvf bsdi60.tar
	# /tmp/ncinstall


NetCon Release 6.0 for SCO and IBM RS6000

File		Description
aix6.0		IBM RS6000 AIX 3.2.5
sco6.142	SCO 4.3 ODT 3.0
sco6.150	SCO OPEN Server 5.0

These file are in tar format cd to "/tmp/netcon" and extract the files
	
	Example:
	
	# mkdir /tmp/netcon
	# cd /tmp/netcon
	# tar xvf /aix6.0 or sco6.1xx

Then insert a floppy disk in the drive make the distribution diskette.
	
	Example:
for SCO
	# tar cv .
for AIX
	# ./aixdisk


NetConMT Release 6.1 for Solaris 2.x


This Directory contains the latest release of NetCon and NetConMT

sun6.x24	Solaris SPARC NetConMT Software Rel 6.0 for Solaris 2.4

For Solaris 2.x Sparc 

NOTE: ON Solaris 2.x before installing NetConMT you must set the 
environmental variable "NONABI_SCRIPTS=TRUE".
	Example:
	# NONABI_SCRIPTS=TRUE (Return)
	# export NONABI_SCRIPTS (Return)

The sun6.125 are in tar format change directory to "/tmp"
and extract the files.
	
	Example:

	# cd /tmp (Return)
	# tar xvf sun6.024 (Return)

Before installing NetConMT you must build the distribution with the 
"pp" shell script. Remember to kill "vold" if running, and insert a diskette
in the drive. If you machine dose not have a diskette drive you can install
from the disk.

	Example:
	
	# pp (Return)


To install NetConMT, reboot into single user mode login as root and 
use the "pkgadd" utility.

	Example:

	From Diskette;
	
	# pkgadd -d /dev/diskette NetConMT (Return)

	From Disk (from the same directory you ran "pp")
	
	# pkgadd -d `pwd`/DIST  NetConMT (Return)
