How to Contact the Sysop

The Sysop, or systems operator, is the person or persons in charge of running computer system in question, in this case a BBS. The sysop on this system is Darren Braun. All questions and problems you have with this system can be directed to him.

There are a few different ways you can get in touch with the sysop. We will discuss them here as best as we can.

Sending the Sysop Mail

Probably the best way to contact the sysop is through e-mail. The (C)omment to Sysop command at the main menu will start up the mail editor addressed to sysop@theboard.dyn.ml.org. Also you only need to specify sysop in the to field to get it to him. The address part is no needed as it is destined to a local user. For more help on how to use the mail client check out the E-Mail help page.

Paging the Sysop

If you wanted to talk to the sysop online you can use the (PAGE) command from anywhere in the menu system. When this commnand is used it will check if the sysop is acepting pages at that time. If he is not you will recieve a message stating that the sysop is not availible. Otherwise the sysop's console will be notified that he is being paged. If there is no responce within 30 seconds it will exit saying that he did not answer. If your page is accepted a split screen chat session will be invoked and you will be able to talk to the sysop then. For help on the chat program check out the Split Screen Chat System Help Page.
